It was a cold day and 현우 was off to school. As he walked, he stopped by the former home of 재석, an old friend who had recently moved to Seoul. He missed his friend and sadly continued on to school. During breakfast, his mother made food that his friend particularly used to like. He was reminded again of his friend. On his way back to school, he stopped by his friend's house again and found a top (팽이) underneath it. He used to play with it with his friend. He kept it in his pocket during class. During craft time, he decided to paint his top. As he did, he daydreamed about him and his friend playing. He got caught in the game and in his fantastical victory, he jumped up and shouted for joy. His teacher got mad at him. He was late in finishing his math, and he missed the bus home. He got angry and threw the top, wondering why his friend wouldn't send him a letter. He went home and his mom surprised him with a letter from his friend. Seeing the letter he was very happy.
