병아리 까던 날: The day the chicks were born

Momma chicken is counting down the days till her chicks will be born. From the day that she laid the eggs, it will be three weeks until they hatch. For the first week, she watches the clouds and sees the shapes that they make. They make bunny shapes but they also make chick shapes. She wants to wander around, but she knows she must dutifully incubate her eggs.

During week 2, she talks to the birds that are sitting high up in a nest. She can't really understand them at first, but they talk about her chicks.

During week 3, she thinks about what stage of development her chicks must be in. "Today, they have grown feet..tomorrow they will have toes..the next day they will have toenails.."

When her chicks hatch, it's a happy day. There are twelve of them. Momma chicken tells them to follow her and she takes them around the yard teaching them many things. While they're walking around the yard, they see many other baby animals and find out that it is children's day. They celebrate because it is a lucky thing that the chicks were born on children's day.
