(part 1)
This story is about a very poor widow and her son and daughter who live in the mountains. One day when the mom was going to go to work at a party the kids asked her to bring home rice cakes. The mom worked and brought rice cakes for the kids. As she was coming home from work with the rice cake and she ran into a tiger. The mom was scared and the tiger was hungry so the tiger told the mom that he would not eat her if she gave him the rice cake. The mom gave the tiger the rice cake but he ate her anyways. Meanwhile the kids were at home and the daughter was really hungry and she was worried about the mom. The tiger when to the family's house and pretended to be the mom. When the kids heard the voice they were suspicious and asked why their mom's voice sounded different and the tiger said it was because she was running back very fast to get home earlier. The kids asked their "mom" to put her hands under the door and when they saw the hairy hands of the tiger they asked why her hands are so hairy. The tiger responded that she had been working very hard all day and so her hands became hairy. The kids finally got a glimpse of the tiger through the door and were very scared to see a tiger so they ran to the backyard. They hid in a tree and the tiger went to the back to look for them. The tiger first looked into the well and saw his reflection and then he saw them in the tree.

So the tiger sees the kids in the tree as he is looking around. The tiger asked how they got up there and the brother cleverly said that they used the sesame oil in the kitchen to climb up. So the tiger went to the kitchen and put oil all over his paws and trying to climb up the tree but kept falling. The sister laughed at the tiger for being dumb and said he could just easily climb the tree with an axe. So the tiger got an axe and began to climb the tree and the kids were really scared and the brother was really mad at the sister. The kids didn't know what to do so they began praying to God for help and God sent a rope down and they began to climb it. The tiger saw this and decided to pray to God for a rope too and another rope came down but the tigers rope was not strong. So as the tiger climbed up the rope he eventually fell and landed in a field of cattails which are now a brownish red color because his blood, and the children when they got to the heavens, God decided to make the son the sun and the daughter the moon, but the daughter was afraid of the night and was shy so she switched with her brother so he became the moon and she became the sun and to this day people cannot look at her.
